Gov. Hunt’s tomb
They hardly make politicians more flamboyant than George Hunt, Arizona’s first governor. He served a record eight terms in office and had a tomb built in the shape of a pyramid on the heights of Papago Park overlooking what is now the zoo. He buried his wife, Duette, there in 1931 and followed her on his own death in 1934.
