RED-THROATED, BLACK-CAPPED, SPOTTED, BARRED
When I was ten I spent birthday and Christmas money on binoculars, field guides to North American birds, seed mixes, and suet blocks. I spent my time staring out the window at the feeders in hopes of spotting chickadees and goldfinches, and memorizing the names of all the different songbirds that inhabited the Midwest. It’s that type of information that never leaves your head even after many years of disuse, so to this day I can identify pretty much any bird. (Usually they look happier than this, though. Except starlings, I’ve yet to see a happy starling.)
