“Do Not Enter When Flooded”   -  (Flash Floods in the Desert)

I know it seems incongruous when you see such a sign posted in an area such as this, dry dusty desert for as far as you can see.  But trust me on this, when a gully washer comes through from a cloudburst miles up the way, you do not want to be in that “dip” when the arroyos fill up and rush past everything and anything in the path on the way to the lowest point.  It moves with urgency to its designated pool spot.

The forces of water are stunning and can work their magic over millions of years or burst through in a few short moments and change the face of the landscape, and anything else in its way.

Respect for forces of nature.
