Antique Carved Ivory Lion Bookends -

These handsome boys caught my eye.  They were quite heavy and quite pricey.  Also, you would need a massive bookcase to show them off properly.   I just don’t really hang on to books like I once did.  If I have read them, I pass them on.  That suits my purposes better than keeping them on a shelf when they should be being read again and again.  

Besides, I would always wonder what animal gave up his ivory for human vanity and an object of art.
