In honor of all who have passed away playing chess, here is the famous scene from Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal in which a knight takes on Death himself in the beautiful game.

HH:  Ingmar Bergman movies gave me the shivers when I was a kid, but I couldn’t stop watching them.  They were so different from the mainstream and I always liked listening to other languages and getting an ear for where someone was from.

HH:  I watch them play right up the street from me at Washington Park.  It is a whole family picnic event there in the fall.  I find it interesting to watch.

Tumblr so unpredictable

Funny how you can post a picture you might think it really noteworthy and nothing happens.  Then, a month later, suddenly people find it and, hey, they might think it is cute too.

That happened today with the picture of the Amazon couple with the monkey sitting on the woman’s head posed like a rainforest hat.  It suddenly got 387 hits.

This makes me smile  :)
